Join Our Team!
Our campus was shuttered in 2020 and 2021 so we are eagerly planning a fun and productive 2022 summer of programs and events!
We are a diverse organization, with our roots firmly planted in the local communities and Denali National Park and Preserve. Each summer we welcome hard-working, motivated, and fun individuals to join the Denali Education Center team. Without seasonal staff, we are not able to connect youth, travelers, and locals to Denali. Every individual plays a crucial role in informing, engaging, and inspiring people to “Get Denali” and value wild places everywhere. Our pay is competitive, and the company couldn’t be better. Join us today!
About Us
Denali Education Center is a non-advocacy, for-purpose organization and a proud partner of Denali National Park and Preserve. Our mission is to promote understanding and appreciation of Denali through fun, informative, and inspiring programs. Our 10-acre Denali campus is home to 24 guest rooms, a combined classroom and dining hall, a lecture hall, an educational yurt, an employee kitchen/bath facility, and employee cabins. Our Denali campus is located along the Nenana River and just outside of Denali National Park and Preserve. In Denali, we host week-long adult learning vacations, youth programs, community programs, evening events, and lectures.
Through our partnership with Denali National Park and Preserve and in cooperation with various organizations across Alaska, we host summer youth programs that vary in length and include 1-hour weekly offerings for 2-5 year-olds, week-long day-camps for 1st-8th graders, and week-long programs that explore Denali’s Wilderness, offered with both backpacking and basecamp style itineraries.
In June 2020, we merged with the Northern Susitna Institute in Talkeetna allowing us to provide educational programs on a 3-acre campus that includes a public building (Susitna Hall), a shop/classroom, and a small employee housing unit. We are excited to offer a second year of youth programs and hope to provide community programs and evening lectures for tour groups in Talkeetna.
