Denali Education Center is proud to be certified by Adventure Green Alaska- promoting environmentally conscientious and sustainable tourism in Alaska. Adventure Green Alaska (AGA) is a voluntary certification program of the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA). Each year AGA works to certify Alaskan tourism businesses that use sustainable operating practices in Alaska and meet standards of economic, environmental, and social sustainability. The AGA sustainable tourism certificate program encourages tourism businesses to evaluate their operations and determines whether they either use- or could be using- best management practices.
Examples of AGA Sustainable Practices…
- Working with and supporting other local Alaskan businesses.
- Adopting organization-wide sustainable practices ( recycling, use of non-toxic cleaning products, etc.)
- Using energy efficient building practices within the business infrastructure.
Denali Education Center believes that a trip to explore Denali and Alaska does not have to come at the cost of environmental sustainability. You can learn more about AGA or to check out other businesses that are working to create a more sustainable Alaska HERE.
