Scott Weidensaul is a Pennsylvania-based naturalist and author. He has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in the non-fiction category for his book Living on the Wind: Across the Hemisphere With Migratory Birds. Recently, he has been involved with Project SNOWstorm, a collaborative research effort focused on the 2013-2014 snowy owl irruption, where thousands of snowy owls left the arctic for reasons unknown. Scott will talk about the wonders of bird migration and how the subarctic is a vital ecosystem for these annual migrants.
