What Is a Nature Scout?
A scout is someone who is sent out to explore unfamiliar terrain ahead of others. It is their job to examine and investigate as much as they can about what lies ahead so that followers will know what to expect. Nature Scouts will spend their week exploring the nooks and crannies of Denali’s many habitat types – from stream beds to squirrel middens to alpine tundra.
Each Nature Scout should come to camp equipped with a sharp mind, keen observation skills, and a sense of adventure. Using all five senses and their curiosity they will seek to discover what it takes to survive in the subarctic as a plant or animal.
Where will the Nature Scouts be exploring?
