In Talkeetna: Climbing Denali Today with 50 Years of Reflections with Roger Robinson
June 19, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
“Climbing Denali Today with 50 Years of Reflections”
Long-time Talkeetna resident Roger Robinson, who first climbed Denali in 1975 at age 21, reflects on 50 years of experience. His climbs led to a passion for mountain cleanup and safety. As a Denali National Park climbing ranger, he worked towards a cleaner mountain.
In 2000, he developed the Clean Mountain Can (CMC) to address human waste disposal. After 40 seasons, Roger retired, having made significant contributions to mountain conservation. His story is detailed in the book “Denali Ranger” by Lew Freedman, available for sale to support the Talkeetna Historical Society.
