For over 20 years the Denali Education Center has hosted an annual fundraising auction. Over the years this event has become a cornerstone for the Denali community – allowing people to come together to celebrate friends, fun, and fundraising! The funds raised at this event not only allow DEC to continue making campus improvements, it also helps to ensure our ability to provide informative and inspiring programs to the local community and its visitors.
For our major fundraising event this summer, on September 2, we are hosting Charlie’s Carnival and Silent Auction — a 1900’s-themed Denali Centennial celebration and one of the Denali Reunion activities! Attendees will bid on an awesome selection of donated items while enjoying a sampling of food, desserts, and beverages, all generously donated by local businesses and restaurants.
The festivities will include a presentation by Charlie Sheldon and Willie Karidis, the dedication of Charles Sheldon’s gun to the NPS, magic shows by Adam Queen, face painting, live music, games, contests, and more! This year, each donation we receive will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Rasmuson Foundation up to $25,000, which will be put toward the construction of a new commercial kitchen and updated staff facilities.
