For over twenty-seven years, the Denali Education Center has been connecting people to Denali through expert-led talks that inform and inspire. Come to Denali – catch the spirit of the North!
Life in Denali is an experience every visitor to Denali won’t want to miss! Get a glimpse into what it takes to live in Interior Alaska, 130 miles from the nearest grocery store. Local residents share their personal stories and photos of life in the far north. The program is offered nightly at 7:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
Welcome to the Subarctic: A one-hour program that provides a strong foundation for understanding and appreciating Denali and the Interior. These programs, which take place in a beautiful meeting room on our campus, are an excellent activity for a group to participate in on their first evening in Denali. Introductory talks give an overview of the ecology of the subarctic as well as the human and geologic history of Denali National Park.
An incomparable educational experience for the most motivated travelers. Programs of up to three hours offer in-depth perspective on the plants, animals and climate of the subarctic, as well as the geology, and human history of the Park. These programs offer attendees the opportunity to explore all their questions about the Park and learn about contemporary conservation concerns. Choose from our infamous Exploring the Subarctic, which offers an extended overview of the Park, and/or a Wildlife of Denali, which delves into the incredible adaptations that allow local wildlife to survive in this extreme climate. One or two advanced talks are ideal activities to include on educational tours in Denali.
